GhazzyTV - THE Spectre Summoner [LOW & HIGH BUDGET VERSIONS]

"
The important part here is to look past their bleed which is insignificant but instead focus on the fact that they do 100% physical damage and have such high projectile speed that they can shoot roughly 1.5 - 2 screens away.

Testing/using Knitted Horrors extensively myself this patch everything u said up till this point is correct but that statement is false. Most of their damage does indeed come from the bleed and the ability to abuse double dipping mechanics. In fact while moving, monsters take 60% of your initial hit per second(multiplied again by projectile and minion stats) which is quite a lot of damage. They actually have a fixed projectile distance so stuff like slower proj and faster proj will not effect their shooting distance.

Flame Sentinels are hands down the most consistent spectre in regards to dmg and AI. Which is why most summoners use them.

While we're at it - is there some general Summoner guide to how take care of your summons? Convocation and HP flasks applying to summons, sure but are there any neat tricks a newcomer to this type of play should know?

Look for {2.2}Necronomicon/Raise Spectre tier list on the witch forums. This is where we are trying to compile a lot of minion mechanics info u might not find on wiki or otherwise.

As far as I can tell, leveling is a chore. I mean really, past lvl ~25 it was unbearably slow as self found. I have some Lifesprigs and stuff but it's nice only at the very beggining.

I've bought two of these:

and it got significantly better. Still not on par with Bladefall but also not as mana hungry. Running with Clarity and Discipline because at lvl 46 I can barely break 2000hp.

I can't wait to switch to Spectres as standing and casting being this squishy is asking for troubles. Lost 1 Witch at lvl 28 due to Perandus chest boss (the one with shield charge - literally one shotted me with 1000hp and 500es on Normal difficulty)

Why Sentinels over Revenants? (I know Revenants were quite popular after introduction of A4, what changed?)

I JUST added a "FAQ" section in the guide saying this:

Thank you for very swift response!

While we're at it - is there some general Summoner guide to how take care of your summons? Convocation and HP flasks applying to summons, sure but are there any neat tricks a newcomer to this type of play should know?

Everyone has different preffered ways of going about the lvling, your suggestion is very good indeed.

Glad you like it, I try to do my best as always, if you want questions answered live and directly you can always come to the stream. However, for obvious reasons, bigger questions are refered to the threads of youtube comments. (Usually responding on YouTube much faster than here).

When it comes to general summoner guide it all feels rather self-explanatory and logical when to use what and when. Usually i would suggest you to come check the stream but since i do not play summoner exclusively you won't always see me play as a summoner.
The general rules still apply though:
* Convocate offensively or defensively (Get minions to you for attacking // get minions away from harms way)
* Flesh Offering should be kept up at all times you are attacking something
* Curse on Hit or curse to "steer" your minions to which enemies to attack or where you want them to move (works mediocerly)
* Can also apply Desecrate to spawn corpses on the enemies to make Flesh Offering possible if no corpses around and this works as an indirect notifier for the minions to attack/move to that general direction.

The reason I'm not focusing on the bleed effect is the fact that spectre summoners usually have a lot of meatshields and are rarely moving when "in combat" as moving "too much" will make your minions less likely to actually engage in combat. So when you don't move the bleed is only ticking from a non-moving base. However, your statements are correct the bleed is amazing, I just find it lackluster to rely on. Same goes for their AI, I want reliability when fighting. I think that comes from my endless of atziri runs, It would be impossible for me to kill Uber Atziri as a classic summoner relying on the mechanics from Knitted Horrors.

Ultimately it will come down to a matter of taste, I've told everyone that has asked me what the best build is, that the best build in the game is:
"The build you enjoy playing the most, it does not have to be the fastest, best, safest or what ever. As long as you're having a good time playing the game with it, THAT build will be the best for you"
This goes for the choice of spectres as well of course!

That post is a good source of information, asking me for specific mechanic questions is perfectly fine as well. Currently there has been no summoner questions that I have been unable to answer!

How much does clear speed drop when you use 5-Link instead 6-Link? I could maybe afford 6S 5L Vis Mortis at the moment if I've dumped all my Chaos, Fusings and Alchemists (and about never for 6L given my general luck in Path of Exile - needless to say my main source of income is Vorici's 20 fusings for 64 jews deal...)

Or would it make more sense to run 4L Vis Mortis until I get 6L one? Could I clear some T1-T5 maps with 4Linked Spectres to get currency rolling?

Merci flame sentinels still got rekt during first encounter of cruel Izaro. It's also big hassle trying to get mobs attack right pillar when I'm kiting.
I wonder if the 100% inc hp is enough to make spectres tanky enough so I don't want to killmyself every fucking time when one or two dies inevitably in a map and I have to go hunt the worlds for high level spectres.
Yeah, what I'm being afraid of. People say summoners are fine in 2.2 yet I see high amount of people saying it's exact opposite (for the issues that I'm familair with). So, how it is? Anyone up to filming their efforts with classic summoner doing cruel&merc labs consistently?

I would suggest grabing the 5L til you can get your ass a 6L then. The 5L Vis Mortis will open up more or less all end game content but the absolute highest tiers with hard rolls.

This is confusing me a lot, my spectres had no issues what so ever dealing with even Merciless Izaro, once you get Merc spectres they will own.

So to further investigate your issues I need to know a few things:
* What level is your Desecrate Gem?
* Where and what difficulty do you summon your Flame Sentinels?
* Are you making sure you convocate your minions out of harms way (traps included) on the boss fight?
* Flesh Offering kept up during the fight? (It shouldn't last very long at all)

I fear the main problem here is your Desecrate but I'll await your response before solving your issue! :)

I've been livestreaming it and recording everything, summoners are incredibly strong. There are certain mechanics and information that needs to be taking in to account before throwing any final verdicts when it comes to summoners.

If you are having issues with something, come to my stream and/or post here and i will solve the issue for you. There is nothing I will be unable to help you with when it comes to summoner information.

I_I Yes, indeed it was my desecrate gem. Currently it summons 38 level corpses so that must've been it. I should've known desecrate affects my spectres... I thought it was completely based on zone level.

Thx a lot - I was ready to give up my char but I'll try again.

E: Does this mean I can summon 100lv corpses in eternal laboratory?

I think I'm missing something important here. How Desecrate affect Spectres? I thought we go to Merc Solaris for Flame Sentinels, Desecrate summon corpses we can raise as Zombies or use for Offering? I feel stupid now?
Editado por útlima vez por Marrond#4432 en 23 mar. 2016 16:45:30
In regards to raise spectre:
IF u read the gem it self it "can" summon up to X level corpse. If you use a level 19 desecrate it can summon "up to" a level 100 corpse.

Since the Eternal lab zone is 68 you will summon a level 68 flame sentinel corpse. If you use a lower level desecrate gem that says you will summon up to a level 30 monster. That Flame sentinel corpse in that level 68 zone will be level 30.

For zombies, as long as u have a corpse u summon a zombie of your current gem level.

Yeah but how exactly do you get Flame Sentinel corpse in lab? It seem to be random for me :P

edit:

Nevermind, I'm potato. I was going Solaris and looking for Sentinels while I should use Desecrate, hence why his Desecrate level mattered...

Just hit Lvl62 today and enetered A3 Merc. Cruel Sentinels and my leveled Zombies are literally raped by each and any Perandus boxes. The spam is just too much to handle, I'm not sure how I should deal with this. Especially when they have proximity shield and they're not very keen on leaving it.
