Knee-jerk balancing while ignoring obvious shit you could be fixing
If i wanted to play Trade Simulator i would do it IRL where it actually benefits

" ya, I have similar thoughts on the issues tbh. People complain because of lack of access to endgame content. So they fix a few people hitting 100 too fast by nerfing everyones access to endgame rather than changing how much xp is being gained. People complain mfing gives way too many items compared to normal play, to the point where it feels pointless playing a non mf character if you want to get decent loot. GGG nerf everyones drop rates by nerfing ghosts rather than changing mf. Thats absolutely the way to go, make problems facing the majority of players worse in order to balance what 0.01% of the player base is doing... and yet still dont manage to stop what that 0.01% are doing being totally ridiculous and imbalanced, but do manage to achieve fucking over everyone else who wasnt doing something that needed nerfed. The double fail is real. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

I was wondering why the ghosts I killed today gave so few drops. It's a shame to release such patch, really.

When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch? If the witches watching watches watch the same watch while you watch which witch watches which watch, they switch watches; then, the watch switching witches watch which watch you watch. Watching witches watch watches is not for the faint of heart... |

I feel like less items are dropping in high quant maps, and my suspicion is that this is to help stop high quant maps crashing, which is a good thing. But I didnt see any patch notes saying they were doing this. Maybe its just my imagination but I think they snuck it under the door, I dont know why they announced the ghost thing rather than just doing it and not telling anyone. Unless theyre actively trying to change behavior as much as change the loot in this case and the exact opposite in the map quant situation I guess?

Ah, this thread is much better suited to my ramblings that the one I originally posted this in. So sorry, but here goes:
I fully agree with the OP. I must say, this fix to the vaccuum farmer made me lose all feeling for GGG. POE is still a great game, and a fix was necessary. Yet I think I finally lost faith that GGG actually cares about the game: There are game-breaking bugs (map dcs, piss-poor performance, load lags, etc...) which get no attention whatsoever, but the moment somebody publishes an "exploit" with an impact on the game economy, they supply a patch. And not only are they suddenly able to fix an issue, they are also willing to break quite a few eggs to do so: Ghosts are almost completely useless now, as their AI was always so bad that they hardly ever possess rares and get stuck on some wall instead. This change pushes them into the "can be ignored without a feeling of loss" category. Finally, the fix was very badly implemented. You must really not give a shit about the game if all you can think of is "nerf the ghost's droprate" instead of more elegant solutions like "limit the possession time" or "allow only one ghost to posess a mob at a time" or whatever. Why oh why can GGG not 1. Fix issues which really fuck with the gameplay? 2. Supply fixes which don't cause huge collateral damage? 3. Give a fuck about any aspect other than the economy? They really lost me at this point. I truly believe in "Don't attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence", but the amount of incompetence and nafi attitude of some of the key members of GGG towards their game is really getting to me. I'll continue to play until they've added so much broken new content that the game engine needs a better PC than I have, but I no longer share in GGG's vision for the future. That is a huge pity in my eyes, I thought them better than that. May your maps be bountiful, exile Editado por útlima vez por SisterBlister#7589 en 26 ago. 2015 16:09:11

MEANWHILE, map crashing bug still alive and still going strong.
But hey, better fix what 0.00001% of the player base is doing because they are getting too much out of it, it's not like this top 1% is already way ahead of the rest of the playerbase... People are getting to 100 too fast? Better nerf 99% of the playerbase. I seriously hope that one day, ggg will fix and nerf things according to the majority of players, not just the top 1% because no matter what, this top 1% will always find a way to break the game. |

Well that's a shame. Part of GGG's no fun allowed policy I guess.
I already quit the game but I miss it and I watch the forums in case there are developments that push the game towards being more interesting and/or less punishing. Sadly it looks like it's only getting worse! Much more of this type of action from the dev team and I won't even have enough interest to check the forums anymore. |

" +1 Never even knew about this "exploit" but my drop rates are nerfed because of it. GGG, really? |
