Increased duration is not worth it at all from a damage perspective. While increased duration nodes would be nice to boost the duration of our utility skills, icestorm barely benefits.

Icestorm has a base duration of 0.7 seconds and gains +50% skill effect duration per 100 intelligence. With my 1500 int, it gains +750% duration. Increasing that to 795% with three nodes would not be worth it at all! Each of those duration clusters adds only 0.32 seconds to the duration of icestorm.

Similarly an increased duration gem is not useful damage compared to any of the other support gems I use.

nodes that buff both evasion and armour don't double dip with iron reflexes.

The important difference with Snowforged is that it lists the two increases as two separate effects.

25% increased cold damage
25% increased fire damage

If the node instead read

25% increased cold and fire damage

Like it does for the duelist armor/evasion nodes, then we would not get both benefits. Fortunately, we do!

Damage conversion is done before any increases, or multipliers are applied to damage guaranteeing that they are only applied once.

So either you or the wiki are wrong.

i wonder why ppl not realize that max intelligence is not the way to go with whispering ice. 1.1k-1.2k is way enough. i had the same dps on the skill with lvl 72 or 73 on my warbands witch, whith far less gear. (1 perandus, rainbowstride, astramentis and a couple str/dex to int jewels). espcially with reflect nearly gone it's even easier to go crit, as i did. many ppl seem to think that they need to try desperatly to match firestorms dps with the skill but dont remember that u actually still wanna clear fast in this game aswell. good job anyways keep up.
