Me fighting Abaxoth, The End of All That Is

this arse spawned in 76 precinct with 30/30/30 speed mod. needed 10 min to slay him down in bloodlines. do not think you have a chance as melee, he was spamming shit so fast that i had to burn him offscreen.

there was a video of ghudda killing a Rogues' Grip Abaxoth in torment. 6 portal Strategy is what he called it.

absolutely epic.

now if only the game actually had risk/reward, beating something like that should literally fill you up in tier 1 uniques and super-rares.
but here's a spoiler: it doesn't. because RNG says "fuck you".

still, watch the whole fight for an experience of a lifetime.

i remember when he spawned in a 70 map, he basically slaughteredmy 4klife 70 block maxres char in one hit :(
Nice job :D

Those drops though... ^^
"Fixing the endgame was hard - No matter how hard we buffed red maps, people would keep spamming Gorges.
So we turned Gorge into a red map"
is there any way to get this guy to spawn for sure?

im curious if i can do him now lol

If it was like that the entire market would be saturated with the T1 uniques though as most people with an Atziri viable character (hundreds and hundreds of people) would be able to clean up that fight within 6 portals. The most geared people would just roll packsize double beyond and then have entire stash tabs full of T1 uniques.

That being said, they could up the base rarity and quantity on these Beyond bosses to make the drops mitigate more RNG.

here's the thing, Mano:

if I'll ever - after over two years of playing this game - drop a Shavs-grade unique or some super-awesome 6-linked rare, I'd like it to happen after beating something as crazy as this guy.
as opposed to some random rock or barrel on the 9001st mind-numbing Docks/Piety/Dominus run, or a White Shore/Gorge Map.

a little thing I like to call "risk/reward".

the moment you start to worry about "the market" being "saturated" with something, while designing a loot drop system in an ARPG - is the moment you fail, at designing that loot system.
in literally dozens of RPGs, Roguelikes, ARPGs, you-name-its I played over 30+ years, no one was worried about the motherfucking "economy" when talking about loot, and it's proportion to the difficulty of content.

so to conclude: the super-rich, Uber-Atziri farming tycoons can have their loot from Abaxoth. their stash is imploding with crazy gear as is.
I'd like to have my loot from Abaxoth (and/or other "uber content") - if I can actually spawn and beat him - to feel like my feat of skill actually meant something. have a skill-based or at least a "balls"-based method to actually get somewhere, in this wild-RNG-dominated, "economeh"-ridden game, instead of shifting buckets of sand from one place to another for 1.5 fucking years.
