im having huge mana problems. the 2.6 build had leech from soul taker, this doesnt and im not sure what to do.
Hi guys!
I'm really new to Path Of Exile and I wanted to try this build out. I got to the point where I've almost all the major skill gems I need but most of them require higher attributes (STR, INT) which I don't really know how to get. Should I look for that in equipment or did I just skilled wrong?

^^str/int 30/30 you can get near king pf the hill and another str/int 30/30 right before vaal pack or get it from amulet or other gears.
im running LA and wondering how shock works now in 3.0?
trying to decide if I should run elemental focus or not. gives a nice bump of tooltip dps, but not sure if its worth giving up shock?

slightly long response but best explained properly

With the release of The Fall of Oriath, we're going to be changing the threshold so that you only need to deal 10% of a target's life to gain a maximum effect shock. This will make it much easier to apply Shock effects to very high health bosses, which achieves our desired goal; Lightning and Cold based characters can now apply their own ailments to bosses, but not at a strength that would make the encounter too easy without appropriate investment. This means that we can now remove all Chill and Shock immunity from end-game boss encounters. We've removed the minimum, so as long as you'd have a 1% effect with your Chill or Shock, the ailment will be displayed and will have an effect.

To further enable investment, we're also adding Chill and Shock Effect to many clusters of skills on the passive tree, to certain Support Gems, and to Lightning and Cold skills that have a strong affinity with those ailments. This stat can't boost Chill and Shock above their maximum threshold values, so it has the most value on tough bosses.

We're lowering the base Shock duration and base Chill duration to two seconds, to reward investment in Chill and Shock Duration increases already found through the game. This change should also make the ailments less punishing towards players.

Chill and Shock effects from sources like Chilled Ground, Shocked Ground and some unique items have been adjusted to grant lesser slows and damage taken increases. Chill and Shock effect will enhance these values. Our intent with this change is to let them be easy ways to apply these effects to enemies, while letting dedicated Lightning and Cold damage builds have more powerful effects on low health enemies and the potential for greater effects on high-health enemies.

I have a few more questions...I'm getting close to finishing on this character and will start to map soon :) I did a few maps on my first toon but hated it but so far I am loving this playstyle.

Anything I should change on my current gem setup? I just 6L my bow and haven't figured out what I want for a body armor yet (I can't get the heart thing).

Also for the buffs from Sin, which are optimal for this type of build?
Old so now new player, my friend wants to run this build in our 6 man XBone party, and I was just curious as to how my character using lightning damage to proc EE will affect the damage of the standard TS build, what with the phys to lightning and such, any insight would be appreciated.

-for gem links i said it already before main skill+gmp+ele.dmg+ele.fucus+add lightning+added cold/slower projectile

*** some some people in contrary with ele.focus because for them it can't shutter mobs and curse on hit with herald or ice will be useless.
= im afraid i dont use COH with HOI but with another attack skill

*** and replacing physical to lightning by ele focus will slows clear speed and remove all elemental ailment.
= i choose ele. focus because of high numbers and i dont see how clear speed becomes slow. choosing PTL over ele focus drops dps by -32,985.2 (well i guess most of you use POB check it out)

^^And YES JUERK is 100% right in PROJECTILE WEAKNESS, its huge boost in DPS +69,165 compare to Elemental weakness +53,673 and assasins mark 31,314 (with power charges on). and with this gem you wont need to worry on hitting 155 int to use lvl 20 gem and as u can see the figure you already know what to choose from.

and for Sin, i have not decided for that but i go with physical reductions. shoudnt be a bad choice.
^^ and i almost forget regarding the chest piece you can go for belly or kaom's as suggested by neversink. My choice still lightning coil as long all capped resist that 30-40% for relic is huge to overlook.
