I have been following Neversink's build guide for the Tornado Shot ranger and have come to what feels like a plateau with my DPS. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if I need to just upgrade my gear, but it seems that other people I see in the forums are using Infractem or much lower DPS bows than myself and are still hitting at least 10k DPS with Tornado Shot. Currently I am stuck around 5.7k DPS and I struggle to try to get it any higher. I currently have just enough currency to buy Drillneck, but hesitate to since it is expensive and I am not sure how much DPS it will add. How much DPS will Drillneck add if I upgrade to that? Here is my current build tree and gear, any advice is greatly appreciated:
Respec some nodes (mind drinker, you don't need it, just buy ring with 2% mana leach) to crit chance, find similar bow with faster attack speed, buy 20q faster attack and crit. multiplier (it's really increase your damage). Get some crit multiplier on rings and amulet. Also get resists on it and then replace your gloves.
I'm have about 9.5k DPS (without charges, 12.5k on 3 frenzy + 3 power) with crap bow and without Doryani's on my 81 lvl.

As for using drillneck, I'm just wondering what it does for clear speed. Either 40% to 100% pierce, is it worth the hassle over a decent rare quiver?
Don't sure that you really need drillneck. Probably with 40% pierce it increase your projectile damage by 40% (i can't try it on 90% with pierce gem because don't have 6L item), but I don't sure, that it give you more than rare quiver with good crit chance + crit multiple roll.

Yeah, I'm not sure either. I don't really care about the tooltip thought, I'm just thinking maybe 90% piercing just make it more effective to clear maps?

Anyone tested that?
When i use Infractem - 100% pierce chance only help me to cast curse on all mobs. For other goals 40% chance probably more than enough.
Hi again. What would you put on this as the last mod? "Attack projectiles return to you" or Weapon ele dmg?
I'm not really sure how the first one works with tornado shot and if it could be preferrable
Hey all! So I recently made a ranger following this guide and Im having a lot of fun with it. However Im looking around and seeing people talk about their incredible dps numbers! 10k+ tornado and all of that fun stuff! I am sitting around 2.3K paper tornado damage, im not sure if they are using the tornado calculator that was listed though?
Anyway, I was wondering if I could get some input from people on how to proceed further with my gear. Any tips would be appreciated thanks!
Thanks, one last question about crafting bows - i got this one:
Is it better to craft than the "second" one?
Thank in advance...

Hi,
I need some advice...
I have rolled this bow:
As 1 understand, it has 1 prefix (% damage) and 2 suffexes (dex and projectile speed)
So there remains 2 prefixes and 1 suffix.
Is there a point to Elreon multimod it?
I could add local min/max phys damage (pref), local phys%/acc (pref) and local crit chance % (suffix) here?
Is it worth the 2ex?
Can local min/max phys damage (pref) and local phys%/acc (pref) be both added?
Or would it be wiser to remove crafted min/max phys damage from this bow and multimod this?
Ok, 1st bow is not worth multimodding, multimod already takes up a suffix so you wouldn't be able to add crit chance. Also they're removed the hybrid phys/acc mod from Tora in 1.3 so you can't add that either.
2nd bow is worthy of multimod, can add flat phys and crit chance on that one.

Spoiler
First of all replace your bow with rare Harbinger Bow with 8.5 crit and at least 250 pDPS. Also you don't have Drillneck - then you don't need pierce gem, recolor 1 socet in chest to blue and get Increase Crit Multiplier gem. And replace your belt with phys. Doryani's or any rare belt with 90+ life, because 10% of life from belt and 37% from chest don't get you any profit if you don't have enough flat life.
And link your passive skill tree, please.

You really have to et/exalt this one and hope for a good phys/acc hybrid roll!
then you have top end GG harbinger bow!
I find that manually casting Assassin's mark is a pain and the charges take a while to build. If I could get rid of PCoC I could add Added fire instead, is it worth it?
Cheers!
I'm using split arrow + chain + CoH + assassins mark, and it is really better than manually casting it, cause it gives good damage and knockback in addition to curse. Sometimes I can kill white mobs only with my curse attack.
i link mine with Reduce mana -> Curse on hit -> assassins mark -> herald of ice and having 90% full charges most of the time.
That is awesome :) Thanks for sharing, tried it out and it helps a lot :)
