Best defensive CWDT set up for melee?
I'm playing a IF/Facebreaker build on nemesis. Curious what people have found to be their safest/defensive use of 1-2 set ups of this gem? Currently I'm just using one CWDT(1) + Enfeeble(5) + Enduring cry(5) + increased AoE.
I see a lot using temp chains, for leveling up and not done merciless yet would not enfeeble be better? Is there a nice set up for a second I could use? I've seen a few people posting about blinding ones etc. Anyhow, thanks! IGN - Dapper_The_Strapper

Temp chain has an advantage of slowing down casters, where enfeeble only reduce the mobs damage output but doesn't slow down their casting.
It depends which you feel comfortable with. Enfeeble, with quality, also has a great advantage of reducing the accuracy of the mobs, which is great for vs melee & range attack mobs. I usually run: 1) cwdt lvl 1 + lvl 6 temp chain + lvl 6 enduring cry + lvl 20 Increased area effect (can't exactly remember the level numbers but you get the idea). Due to enduring cry being low level, having increased area effect and quality on EC will allow more endurance charge gain. Enfeeble or temp chain, usually I have RRBG boots, so I use temp chain over enfeeble. 2) cwdt lvl 1 + immortal call + increased duration (with Q20 gems, and 3-4 endurance charges, immortal call lasts 3-4 seconds, which is the cool down of enduring cry, so basically make you almost immune to phy dmg all the time) The level of cwdt on this should be higher than 1, so it pops after 1), but even at lvl 1, I still find i get 3-4 sec of phy immunity if I'm surrounded by 5 mobs or more. This is the go-to combo for me. IGN: AchiLize Achi's Quality Shop https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/602552 Editado por útlima vez por biralo#0104 en 18 dic. 2013 18:13:37

CWDT lvl 4 + Summon skeletons + summon skeletons
CWDT lvl 4 + Enfeeble + Enduring Cry CWDT lvl 15 + Increased Duration + Immortal Call That's my current setup. Satisfied. If I had the links, I would add Decoy totem to the last chain. |

This is what I use and it's working nicely. Might level them up a bit though because of Enduring Cry cooldown. Any suggestions what would be the ideal level? |

I usually run Lv1 CwDT - IncrAoE - Lv5 EnduringCry - Lv5 Enfeeble on my duelist. I find Enfeeble more useful than Temp Chains personally.
Skellies and totems are nice too, but for my character I don't want the mobs distracted. FrostWall might work too but might annoy others. Lately though, I've been toying with the idea of Lv1 CwDT - Max LifeGainonHit - Max Chain - Lv8 EtherealKnives. Anyone try this combo? Auto life gain mechanism? I haven't tested it out yet since it'll go on my trapper and she's still growing up. Toupy - Lv93 Facebreaker Cyclone Duelist Editado por útlima vez por Myrthr#6542 en 18 dic. 2013 21:22:52

" Life gain on hit does not work with EK. It only works with "attacks", not with "spells". |

" Damn. So much for autoleeching :D maybe Lv1 CwDT - Lv20 AddedChaos or AddedCold?- Lv20 LifeLeech - Lv8 EK then? I'm not sure how much this'll leech though. Probably pitiful amounts. Screw it. at this level i might as well Lv1CwDT - RejuvTotem... Oh, for the OP, CwDT - MoltenShell is popular too. Summon Skeleton + Lv20 Spell Totem + Lv20 Faster Casting (Those that tested this will throw Decoy Totem away.)
Enduring Cry + Enfeeble (Optional + Lv20 Increased AoE) Molten Shell + Immortal Call + Lv20 Increased Duration (Up to 4 second for 3 Enduring Charges) " Entirely immune, yes. |
