Can someone please explain the idea behind this game

OK I've never ever played a game like this but it looks really cool, never played Diablo or anything like that, can you lvl with a friend from lvl1? is the idea to lvl up and then go into arenas or what? I'm not trolling I genuinely just see the game and have a brain fart, like what are we supposed to do, me and a few friends are trying it at launch in 3 hours and it would be great to have some kind of idea, or is there a noob guide maybe?

Level up cool characters. Get awesome gear. Enjoy the story and atmosphere. Fight in PvP arenas. Play hardcore for the extra challenge. Run ultra hard end game maps. etc.

You can party with up to five other players and play the content together.

The idea behind every game is to waste time and have fun doing it.

ya it at the top of page it says game..and there is a faq thread stickied on the general forum front page both useful guides

This game is not very new player friendly yet. People who are new to ARPGs will find this game really confusing at first sight. Maybe torchlight 2 or diablo 3 will be a better choice for new ARPG gamers. If you like the gameplay of games in this genre, Path of Exile is definately a top choice.

To boil down to it's simple terms: Replacing EVE with POE :)

I was going to say EVE isn't a steep learning curve at all, I hope it's complex I think some thought I was taking the piss asking what to do but I wasn't, though I like the idea of leveling and joining arenas and being able to team with a group is fun. Can you take your toon to different servers? or do you have to create a new one on each one? and which is the mose noob friendly class to play? someone mentioned sticky with guides I'm going to check that out now thanks.

There are no separate servers. All characters an play with each other.

lol and i play eve online.....and no nothing will beat its learning curve, not by a long shot(playing 6+ years and i still learn new things)
