Ban RMT traders already

Lately, i notice more and more People buying on RMT sites and speaking publicly about it, like in the General chat. Those people never get banned.

2 Days ago i watched a streamer buying 10 Exalteds, or rather get traded from a level 1 character with a spamm name and nothing happened.

This damages the currency in the game, stop it already GGG.

Personally, I don't understand why there does not seem to be a single support staff member solely dedicated to job of investigating reported RMT whispers and watching the global chat for people involed in RMT to ban them on sight. Don't waste time on investigating whether the person was joking or serious, put talking about RMT as a bannable offense into the rules. I don't see the proclaimed zero tolerance policy of GGG against RMT enforced properly, to be honest.

I don't know how the current system for banning RMT-people works, but it looks like it involves a lengthy investigation process to verify whether a user talking about rmt or adverising for rmt is indeed guilty of being involved in RMT.

At least have some real time support to ban the blatantly obvious cases on sight.

I really don't think this is a good idea. Banning people for discussing issues is draconian. And even though I'd disagree strongly with someone who advocated that RMT should be permitted, I think allowing that voice to be heard does no harm, and is in fact healthy for discourse.

RMT is not permitted and never will be permitted in PoE, there's no use to discussing whether it should be allowed. By prohibiting talking about it in the game client the process of getting rid of rmt spam could be sped up drastically. The way it currently seems to work is that investigating and banning requires orders of magnitude more time than creating new accounts and advertisment-strings.

There's no harm in some simple house rules regarding the topics which are allowed to be discussed. Some rules like this are already in place. If somebody wants do talk about such topics he or she has every right to do it elsewhere.

All I'm saying is that this zero tolerance policy that was promised feels pretty... tolerant.

edit: To be clear, I don't want people to be banned for saying something like "Man, I really hate those RMT users". That's where the judgement of the dedicated support dude or dudette would come into play.

At a minimum, asking whether RMT is bannable or not should not itself be a bannable offense. Your dream of reduced workload is simply not congruent with anything resembling a fair ban policy.

I can understand where you are coming from when you call it draconian, however I don't see how enforcing a rule everybody agreed to when agreeing to the ToS could ever be unfair. They could ban for saying the word kiwi, that would be stupid, but not unfair as long as it is in the ToS.

At a minimum they should mute players/accounts while they're being investigated during situations where it is somewhat blatant.

some feedback from GGG would be nice, with what and how they are combating "it".
