Hello, I was commenting on this thread to ask you why it feels like I do so little damage. I have spent ~6 exalts on the gear so far yet still feel incredibly weak. Is there something I should change on my tree or something I should invest in that will get me closer to the damage of your build? Thank you for your help.

Introduction

Astral Projector was introduced in 3.9 Metamorph league. It makes nova skills fire from a target point instead from the caster (or totem), making a lot of nova skills far better at clearing and less tedious to position for single target. Thanks to Mathil for the highlight.

I typically hate totem builds, but I wanted to make Omeyocan work and Hiero is the best ascendancy for mana stacking. That combined with The Ivory Tower release and astral projector made me wanna try totems. Shockwave totem was the go-to choice for astral projector, but Dark pact is more fun to me and seemed like a perfect as a totem skill.

Pretty much your end game wand. I'll cost you a LOT more for an upgrade to a rare wand (check pob for the ideal rare wand). The chaos res on it also helps.

Helmet:

Buy/Craft one with es, nearby enemies take increased chaos dmg and ideally chaos res. You need an hunter base (ilvl 85) for it. Use abberant and dense fossils on a hubris with the enchant.

BIS - Dark Pact cast speed.

Budget option: Any rare helmet with es and res.

Chest:

Really good defensive chest if you have unreserved mana. The downside is, you need a lot of unreseved mana and high chaos res to not die as low-life. Make sure you have capped chaos res to avoid one shots from chaos mobs. In levelling the character to 96 in metamoph, I had a couple of deaths at most to chaos dmg.

Budget option while not low life: Any rare chest, Tabula Rasa.

Gloves:

Fingerless gloves with es, res, chaos res.

Budget option: Anything with es, resists.

Boots:

Don't use this unless you have enough mana regen, atleast with totems up.

BIS - Regenerate 2% of Life per second if you were Hit Recently.

Amulet:

Anoint Ironwood - Free life and free damage from totem life.

Budget option: Anything with life, res, spell damage.

Spam dense fossils on crusader crystal belts or buy one. Look for ES recovery rate.
