Maps that have Vaal bosses ?
I have been looking for the Vaal bosses for challenge completion. According to the wiki they are found in Vaal side-areas. However, I have only found one "Mother of the Hive" inside a Vaal side-area. The other 6 have been in maps. Namely Wastepool and shaped Estuary. 2 in a single Estuary map actually. I had run the campaign areas at least 70 times now in search of their respective Vaal side-areas, with no luck at all. Is there some resource that states which maps are likely to have certain Vaal bosses or is it completely random ? I just need Commander of the flesh to complete this. Would be appreciated if anyone can report which map they found him in. 40 Dried lake searches have turned up nothing. I'm Left of Right and far Right of Left. They are all Vaal side area bosses. Some of them are old Invasion bosses, that's why you encountered them in the wild.
Check the poe wiki, it will list all areas where they spawn. Commander of Flesh if I remember correctly is from Dried lake when the Vaal side area is a ruined temple, not the one on the outskirts of the map. |

" I actually checked the wiki and watched a video location of the ruined temple dated june 2018. This is the path I took in Dried lake 40 or so times. Likewise I've run other areas according to wiki criteria and nothing in many runs. Makes me think they changed something for the flashback event. I'm Left of Right and far Right of Left. |

I doubt they would change something like that for a month race. Best you can do is get the vaal side area prophecy or just continue to spam Dried Lakes until you find it. There's probably also people in 820 that will share it when they get it. It is one of the rarer bosses.
edit: corrupted area spawn rates isn't very high. And since Dried Lake has 2 possible corrupted areas, it makes it even rarer to get it so it does require some farming. Editado por útlima vez por Namcap#6810 en 20 ago. 2018 14:19:30

" More disturbing is that while leveling I got a vaal area nearly every zone. Now at higher lvl I cannot find a single vaal area in 70+ runs. Not very fun at all to run these so many times. I'm Left of Right and far Right of Left. |

Putting a Sacrifice Fragment into the map device, opens a Vaal Zone.
They are random, but quite fun since they can now drop gems AND fragments AND corrupted gear. You can't target-farm for the boss missing for the challenge, but you can use any duplicate fragments you have to try and get the ones you don't. And that boss will spawn, eventually. " I have read this, but thought I'd likely burn through all my fragments before getting the boss I need, at least if my recent luck is anything to go by. Thanks for the info anyway. I'm Left of Right and far Right of Left. |

Well you only need one set of 4 fragments to access Atziri.
So my approach is, if I have 2x Sacrifice At Dawn - the 2nd one is for either a Vaal Orb (if I'm running low), or for opening a random zone to try get one more piece for Atziri, a Vaal Gem, or even a corrupted 5+ link. Actually got a 6-link like this. It's utter crap, and has the wrong colors, but it's a 6-link. If RNG is really messing with you and not giving you any fragments, use a Vaal Orb to corrupt a map with a boss you can handle, to make it drop a Fragment. Even better if you can handle "twinned" there, and the map actually rolls it. It's all layers on top of layers of RNG as usual... but now there's more incentive to farm map-device Vaal Zones, in my opinion. Certainly compared to the past state, where a zone could only drop one fragment or one gem - and if it was a gem you're fked. Now it's much better. " The wiki is your friend. At least for the past few leagues, I was able to find all the bosses needed for the challenge exactly where the wiki said they would be. [Edit] Okay I'm late to the party, sorry. Going to leave this here anyway. Editado por útlima vez por Abdiel_Kavash#5296 en 21 ago. 2018 5:05:41

Only GGG knows exactly how this works, the spawn chances, but I just gave up yesterday and forked out for the prophecy. After running 60+ Foothills and 20+ Crematoriums without spawning the damn thing, I was more than fed up and 10 chaos was well worth it. It's just a silly achievement-challenge (and it has nothing to do with skill), but at 7/8 I wanted to tick it off.
Dried Lake can have two different ones, so it won't be a sure thing, but at least you will get one of them this way. Maybe the spawn chance in Foothills is extremely low or something, I don't know, but after seeing where it popped up I know I was looking at the right areas. Which means it never spawned in the 60 or so previous attempts. |
