its dx11 issue, with dx9ex it stay at low ram usage

Nope, i'm using the dx11 version of the 64 bit client and it barely gets over 2 gig for me even after hours of play

i think you have a lot vram, dx11 start using system memory if not enough vram

i didnt noticed such issue too when i had 3gb vram, now my gpu is dead, and i'm using old one with 1gb vram and notices dx11 using all my system memory

afaik programs use the vram to create the image which is sent to the monitor. the bigger the monitor's resolution, the more vram you need. vram usage also depends on what tech the image is manipulated with.

the system's ram is used to buffer ingame assets from the resource file to accelerate their usage.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
Just a few things that should be noted:

The DX9 clients are 32 bit processes
The DX11 client is a 64 bit process

On a 32 bit version of Windows, a 32 bit user mode processes has an address space of 2GB (3GB with a compiler flag set - not in PoE) On a 64 bit version of Windows a 32 bit user mode process has an address space of 2GB (4GB with the compiler flag - not in PoE)

A 64 bit user mode process on a 64 bit OS has an address space of 8TB (on Windows 8 and above this is 128TB)

Without going into technical details, a 64 bit process will use more memory than it's 32 bit counterpart, simply because it has an 8 byte memory address instead of a 4 byte address for the 32 bit process.

As far as VRAM is concerned, unless you're running a high resolution display, 2GB should be more than enough for the textures in PoE. If you have less than that, turn the texture quality down. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to measure real-time VRAM usage in any meaningful way. You can get approximations by using something like process explorer or process hacker (there are others) but if your system really does run out of VRAM as well as any allocated system RAM, then you'll likely find the system will start to complain. If I recall, the Windows Display Manager used to log an event when this happened, no idea if it still does.
wierd.. my poe never goves above 2gb ram usage even not after hours gameplay and i play on dx11 2k res max settings. it starts with 1gb and takes a very long time 3-4h till it reaches 1.8gb

Here's my usage figures after approximately 7 hours. Windows 7 x64/DX11.

Thought I'd add this for interest - Windows 10 same hardware/settngs as above. (One and a half hours only - longer test tomorrow)

What I find interesting here, is the difference between Private Bytes and WS Private Bytes.
