Totems can trigger Elemental Overload - confirmation needed

Totems should be able to trigger Elemental Overload. The Totem would get the Buff, and be unable to benefit from it (same deal as with Power Charges/etc.), but it should still happen.
Does EO have a visual cue?

Yeah, you get a grey status icon, probably should be green too. Actually a lot of these ascendancy effects should get a buff icon but I suppose it would be somewhat of an issue with mantra of flames, haven't actually tested if any of them count as a buff while not having a buff icon.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

A status icon is hardly a visual cue now is it :P I was more looking for something akin to EE, or the Elementalist's Pendulum of Destruction (at least, I think that's the one with a small visual tell).

I initially thought this, but actually I don't know if the totems attacks do have it. (Obviously they would have the 40% damage bonus if you have crit recently, but they might not have "40% more Elemental Damage if you've Crit in the past 8 seconds".)

Unfortunately a non-buff icon in the buff bar isn't enough to tell if the totems do get EO at all.
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Yeah, the one I can spot pretty much never, you're much more likely to notice your AoEs got bigger :)

Still, I don't think totems can trigger it at all if it's an ['on skill use' + 'condition'] effect, it probably doesn't even check for the condition if it isn't something you actively used.

Oh! I get it now. EE is a [you dealt damage] trigger, while EO is a [you used a skill, and it crit] trigger.
Also consider the entirely intuitive idea: Totems and minions dealing damage counts as you dealing damage, but totems and minions casting spells don't count as you casting spells.

So, really, totems don't inherit EE at all, they just trigger your EE.
I infer from this that totems inherit a white list of starts from the player, rather than getting everything, and some things being disallowed.
