Best skill gems for strength based templar?

Thanks tryed infernal blow it gives like 20% more dps then ground slam. Also looted flicker strike with 11 quality swaped it with shield charge it very food skill for fast geting power charges. Also dont know what weapon i will use in high lvls havent any weapon specialization passives and have

I have a new staff-using Templar and find the slow attack speed to be frustrating. What options do I have to increase melee attack speed?

I found two passive spots that are far apart, and each only adds 2% to the speed.

The arm-bands add to speed but can't use them with a staff.

Will I find items later that have an "increased attack speed" mod?

Yes, but high attack speed is largely the property of Dexterity classes. You won't get that much from items.

Try both? Infernal Blow AoE DPS is rather hard to pin down.
