Life not healed at checkpoints or well - Lich Eternal Life

What: Life not restored at checkpoints or at well in hideout due to Eternal Life "Your life cannot change while you have Energy Shield" Lich ascendancy node.

How: My total life is 1,227. Once my energy shield was depleted, I took damage and went down to 647 life. Once the energy shield recharged, the life remains static at 647 and life flasks don't work, which may be intended.

Troubleshooting: Going back to the hideout and using the well does not restore my life. Discovering a new checkpoint in a new map or random area in the campaign does not restore it either. Only dying or removing all ES gear restored my health back to full.

I am experiencing the same thing, but it did not occur to me immediately after patch .3. There was a monster in Holten Estate that hit me with spikes, and it started happening after that. No debuff appears.

This happened to me in 0.1 and 0.2 while playing stormweaver as well, so I don't think this is a new bug but rather a preexisting one that hasn't been addressed.

As far as i understand it works exactly as it was intended - when you have any ES, your life can not be changed in any way (either reduce or increase/heal up). In case it remain not full after you die - than its a bug, otherwise everything looks in accordance with the wording of the nodes. If you want to refill your life you could use an unique helmet Visage of Ayah (just equip it and use flask or well in your hide out) - this helmet grants you Eldrich Battery passive node, so your ES will be converted to mana and since there are no ES you can manipulate your HP pool.
