Excessive drive utilization & power draw in town/loading screen

There is something wrong here. My drive usage goes up to 1.2GB/s when i am loading into town or some zones. Then while in town it will stay around 100-300MB/s. In my hideout or zones alone this is a non-issue. My computer is drawing more power during a loading screen than it does while playing the game. Confirmed using my UPS via watts reading. How is this even possible lol
