Totem placement is inconsistent

Please place totems at our feet, not at our target’s feet. They die almost instantly.

I’ve tried aiming elsewhere with the right stick, but it’s rare that the totem drops anywhere but on a mob.

Edit: fiddled with this a lot more. The problem seems to be the snap targeting. I can aim away with the right stick, but if a mob gets anywhere near me the game ignores my aim, targets the mob and the totem goes back at its feet. If I can keep some distance I have more control over where the totem goes. That is easier said that done when the mobs are on amphetamines most of them time 😳
