Aim Assist Nightmare on Xbox X

Can someone tell me how to turn off auto aim on controller?. Or can we get a feature to address the ranged combat issue that has plagued this game since launch?.
When I'm standing right beside a mob /boss and my stupid character aims off screen to a random white mob that's behind me...it's driving me to drink. It should Always aim Where I am aiming, and should only AA if no input is behind made. I'm constantly fighting against the game. Thanks for listening.

In the button bind menu, on the left hand side there is an aim option. Select it and it should open up giving you 3 options. Auto, melee, and ranged. Each of the 3 has options that can be toggled on and off.
