Life stuck below max, Lich ascendency

Bug report reference number 2431172942.

My life was stuck at 595/1378. Using potions or the well in town did not fix the issue, but killing my character did. I saw this shortly after specing the "Eternal Life" ascendancy node (maybe this is an unintended interaction with that node?). I tried taking damage and then using a life flask, but that never pushed my life above 595.

Your life doesn’t change while you have an energy shield.

It’d be nice if our health was reset when we start a new map otherwise we are stuck trying to whittle away our energy shield somehow before we can chug a health pot.

Gotta suck hard for those on hardcore.

It’s not a bug, that’s exactly how this node works.

I'm pretty sure this is the intended effect. It means you'll be able to use nodes that work when you're at low life basically forever.

For example there is a node Final Barrage

20% increased Cast Speed when on Low Life
10% reduced Cast Speed when on Full Life

With Eternal life you can basically have permanent 20% cast speed.

my friend had this issue on hc, and you can just respec your ascendency point on "Eternal Life" then heal and put it on again
