Console co-op needs to be fixed so second player can log into their account

When play co-op on a console second player creates a character on 1st player's account and not log into their own account. Co-op needs to allow each player to log into their own account and not create a character onto someone else's account account. Never in my life have I seen an online game do this. Please fix!

I agree theres only a limited amount of character slots & you sell character slots as microtransactions so fix this if my second controller is on a different psn account then that account should have it's own set of characters.

My wife and I both have POE2 accounts for the PC and XBOX series X.
It seems that we can not log in 2 separate accounts (like Diablo 4 couch co-op example only) and play couch co-op.
Numerous back and forth emails to support were very misleading and never definitively addressed the issue so after reading every thread on the subject here I see that:

Only ONE account can be logged into the XBox console at a time, not 2 separate accounts.

To play couch co-op on XBox, two (2) characters must be created on ONE account, where P2 (player 2) is a character that is or will be created on whoever logged into the game.

I am hoping when the full release comes out that 2 unique and separate accounts can be logged in for a true couch co-op console experience.
