🐺 Law of the Wilds ~ Wildspeaker 🐺
![]() Greetings, fellow exiles. In this showcase, I'll explain an original build which I made pretty successful in Legacy of Phrecia. It is specifically good for Ultimatums. I hope you enjoy it. Overall Performance (1 to 10):
Spoiler
Endurance: 7 (high) Map clear efficiency: 9 (very high) Single Target damage: 9 (very high) Budget: 3 (high) Ascendancy: Wildspeaker

Unique Jewels:
Spoiler
Watcher's Eye - Any defensive mods here will help a lot; Grand Spectrum (10% minion critical strike multiplier) - We use 3 of them for their maximum effect of a +90% total crit multiplier; Brutal Restraint - Minion damage and Aura effect is the most beneficial; Fortress Covenant - for reasonable reasons. Cluster Jewels:
Spoiler
We're using three Large with Renewal, Rotten Claws, Vicious Bite and/or Feasting Fiends. We aim to get the wolves' impale chance to 100%. We're also using six Medium with Renewal and Dread March and/or Feasting Fiends. Dread March is important due to the fact that minions take chaos damage over time after they critically hit. Other Jewels:
Spoiler
Some basic Cobalt jewels with increased Minion damage, resistances, Life and other goodies. Flasks:

Detailed build description:
Spoiler
The wolves are summoned when you occasionally critically hit so your character must be on the move, hitting monsters from time to time, to make sure wolves are up and fighting. A simple Cyclone + Increased chance to crit is enough. Damage scaling:
Spoiler
Damage scales most of all with Critical hits which inflict very effective Impales. Of course, as all minion builds, more damage and utility comes from good support spectres and the Feeding Frenzy support gem. The character itself has very potent auras, including the awesome Avian aspect which provides lots of chance to deal Double damage - additionally boosted by the body armour. Defenses:
Spoiler
The defense on this build is not lower than average - rather high: 90% evasion 100% spell suppress (at 35% reduced spell dmg taken) 70% chance to block Flesh & Stone Uniques:
Spoiler
Gear includes 6 unique pieces: -Saqawal's Nest: this body armour is awesome in many ways - it helps with attributes, mana reservation and perfectly fits the idea of using the Aspect of the Avian; -Law of the Wilds: This is the main idea of the build - summoning wolves on occasional critical hits. The socketed support gems directly affect the wolves; -The Squire: The perfect shield for such a build - all support gems directly support the wolves from the claw; -Stranglegasp: One of my favorite amulets - provides a tremendous versatility when it comes to choosing notables to anoint. Since the Ranger is on the opposite side of the minion notables on the tree, it provides access to the important ones from the top left side of the tree; -Ancient Skull: The helmet provides an incredible amount of damage through transferred critical strike chance to your minions; -The Stampede: It's the best choice for boots in this case since we're cycloning around. It's best to keep moving and these boots offer a constant 50% increased movement speed. Note that you're also immune to Hinder and Maim, as well as other debuffs that affect your Movement speed directly. Also you get an additional anoint! Rares:
Spoiler
As usual, rare pieces are only to add up generic mods. Most of them should provide as much life and resistances as possible. The rings should have a minion base (Gloam or Bone) with additional minion damage and attack speed if possible. The Skill:
Spoiler
The skill is provided by the claw Law of the Wilds and it gives the character 20% chance to summon a Spectral wolf on critical hit. Support gems socketed in the claw (and in the Squire) will directly affect the skill, making it 7-linked. The wolves have 30 seconds duration and are directly affected by modifiers to Claw critical strike chance and Claw critical strike multiplier from the passive tree. The wolves follow you similar to zombies and are not too aggressive. If you summon a wolf while you have all maximum (10) wolves alive, it will instead heal and refresh the duration of the wolf that is the oldest. Links explanation:
Spoiler
Helmet: Guard skill, curse and an Frostblink go here; Gloves: Animated guardian and Cyclone go here; Boots: Reserved for spectres. Body Armour: A 6-linked aura setup including Grace, Haste, Flesh & Stone, Precision and Pride - all supported by Enlighten of course. Weapon and Shield: 6 support gems: Brutality, Melee physical dmg, Minion damage, Critical strikes, Impale and Melee Splash. Recommended to put the Impale and Critical hits in the shield for a small additional boost to impale and crits respectively. For boss fights - swap the Splash with Multistrike. Keystones:
Spoiler
We do not use any Keystones. Masteries:
Spoiler
12% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills 15% increased maximum Life if there are no Life Modifiers on Equipped Body Armour. Tattoos:
Spoiler
The build, as it is, allows the usage of some tattoos for small additional bonuses like Evasion, Minion life, Accuracy and Chance to Blind. Spectres and Animated guardian:
Spoiler
-Perfect Guardian Turtle: Provides a lot of defense, including a Determination aura that you can use to get bonuses from the Watcher's eye; -Perfect Forest Warrior: Has Culling strike, also provides a permanent Onslaught to everyone around him; -Perfect Warlord: Provides additional defenses such as 100% uptime of endurance charges and a Vitality aura. -Perfect Dancing Sword : An incredible boost to your wolves' damage - provides impale effect and makes sure the chance to impale is capped. The Animated guardian uses: Body armour: Garb of the Ephemeral; Gloves: Rare with 20%+ Life regeneration rate; Boots: Rare with 20%+ Life regeneration rate and some Chaos resistance; Helmet: Leer cast with % Life regeneration corruption; Weapon: Kingmaker. Gameplay:

Leveling:
Spoiler
Leveling with Raging Spirits and/or Zombies is easy. Mapping:
Spoiler
Dash into the first group of monsters to summon some wolves and try to keep them 10 by doing this from time to time. Cycloning with the Stampede boots is just fun. Budget:
Spoiler
Weapon: Law of the wilds is cheap - around 10-20c; Shield: Should be 2d with any rolls. Around 5d with additional block chance implicit; Body Armour: 1d to 15d. Depends on the rolls; Belt: Between 2 and 15d. Depends on the rolls; Boots: Around 50c for any rolls. Around 1d for ones with a useful implicit; Gloves: Generic rare gloves would be around 1-2d with good rolls. Going up to 10-12d for the endgame version; Helmet: 5c for any roll. Going around 2 to 10d for the most useful implicits; Amulet: Stranglegasp gets very expensive as the time passes in the league. Late league, a non-corrupted one will be around 20~120d. You can also buy a corrupted one for 5-10d but then Tainted oils will be very expensive. Overall it's around 15d on average. Early league, it can be generally found for 3 to 10d uncorrupted; Rings: Should be between 3d and 5d for each. Try to find ones with increased minion damage and increased minion attack speed (Bone base). They can go up to 50d for the high-end versions; Jewels: -A good-rolled Fortress Covenant is around 2~5d. You can find one for 1d with just any roll; -Grand Spectrums were very expensive this league for some reason. Each was approximately 10d. Going up to 25d for ones with useful implicits (such as anti-Corrupted blood or Reservation efficiency; -Forbidden Jewels: We do not use any forbidden jewels; -Timeless Jewel: A useful Brutal Restraint with aura effect and/or Minion damage will be around 1d to 3d; -Basic rare jewels: 2d each on average; -The Large cluster jewels are around 2~5 divine orbs each. The Medium cluster jewels are between 50c ~ 2d each; Skill and Support Gems: On average, all gems should be around 2d~5d if none of them are Awakened. Min-maxing the gems is very effective - I recommend getting a 21/20 on all possible basic gems and 6/20 for the Awakened ones. Maximizing the gem efficiency (including the Animated guardian setup) is approximately 40 additional divines. OVERALL AVERAGE BUDGET: between 100 and 350 divine orbs. Pros and Cons:
Spoiler
Good: -Simple gameplay; -Really good clear speed; -Really good single target damage; -Unique. Bad: -Defense is high but physical damage taken remains a problem sometimes; -Can get very expensive if you seek to maximize the performance. Videos, Screenshots and Links:

Ideas and Alternative options:
Spoiler
-Recommendations for the gear: 1. Gloam ring (used on the left slot); 2. +2 to socketed minion gems where the spectres go; 3. +2 to socketed duration gems where the Guard skill goes; -Making your Cyclone cost nothing feels awesome; -Animate guardian can be used safely. All minions are tanky enough with a lot of regeneration. My current guardian has more than 16% constant Life regen; -Note that Fresh Meat support will only work when a wolf is summoned but not when its duration is refreshed. Unfortunately, this support gem is useless for the wolves or any minion that would refresh its duration rather than being re-summoned; -I consider the build to be awesome for Ultimatums since the wolves are getting a bit crazy with being aggressive due to the build using Ancient skull - making them more aggressive than usual. The difference is not too much but it fits just right and their aggro range is just perfect; -Renewal and Hearing whispers - the choice of notables on the cluster jewels as well as other bonuses on the gear makes sure that the wolves have enough resistances and leech + regeneration to overcome the nearly constant Hearing whispers effect from the Ancient skull, rendering them to be on full life all the time, therefore providing the #% to deal Double damage bonus from Renewal.
