Restart or intuit my chaos build?

Hey guys,

I foolishly (this is sarcasm) made the decision to go into the game blind to avoid spoilers and to see what I could intuit

I put all of my points into chaos nodes on the skill path and focused all my gems into chaos abilities

I looked up the ascendancies for the witch class and broke my self-truce of going in blind and intuiting my build

What do you guys recommend as far as respeccing? Should I restart my character? I work full time and the 21 hours I've put in were mostly over the weekend and a couple days after work this week. To me, that's a lot of time spent and i'm looking at that as a wall I have to climb back over.

Can I grind uncut skill gem drops?

Should I keep trudging forward with my chaos obsession and build into minions like the developers want me to?

Does full chaos work with either of the other ascendancies or should i pause my progress until they decide if they're going to release a chaos focused ascendancy?

(Almost) Full Chaos works. My 53 Blood Mage can attest to that.

Essence Drain + Contagion, Bone Cage for CC/Defense, then use Curses and Effigy to support that, enjoy Hex Blast later to explode packs.

Pick a filler to support Contagion/ED while they are working (or just spam ED).

Try to get maximum life/resistance as priority, a weapon and offhand with +x to Chaos/all spell gems, Chaos damage, Spell Damage helps with DpS.

For Talents -> Chaos Damage, Spell Damage, Recoup, Curse Efficiency, Curse Area
For Ascendancy -> Sanguimancy, Grasping Wounds, Crimson Power and likely Vitality Siphon last

Alternatively once you are established in A3 and onward a switch over to Hexblast with Blasphemy/Despair and Crit can also be a thing.
