Where to go from toxic rain after league start

Hi I've hit a bit of a wall with Toxic Rain I enjoyed it for levelling up but now finding it a bit clunky and slow what would be a realistic change to, I was think elemental/lightning but current builds seem to be starter only

Any advice/help would be greatly appriciated.

icicle mine( good for boss, essence, heist, garden ) or lightining arroww / ele hit of the spectrum ( worst for single dps, little bit better for alch and go clearing speed)
both need to change ur ascendancy to deadeye. icicle mine u can start with litterally 2 chaos and lightning arrow/elehit 5c

Thanks for the advice I did think lighting arrow, but want something that will hit hard and fast
