That's the minimum I want. It's a Scion build with the Elementalist and Pathfinder nodes. It uses Hrimburn and the Winter Spirit nodes to convert physical attack to cold damage, so Cyclone can deal lots of cold damage and hopefully chill enemies. It has lots of cold penetration and elemental penetration. It shouldn't NEED an elemental weakness curse. At least i hope so. I really want both the temporal chains aura and herald of ice, and I don't think I could get elemental weakness to fit without borking it. Daresso's Defiance is there for the Onslaught bonus. The build also uses the Graceful Assault node to boost Onslaught. It uses silver flasks of adrenaline to get a significant movement speed and attack speed boost. I'm terrible at making builds. All my builds die quickly. Would it be possible for someone to fill the rest of this out and make it survivable? As a point of pride I really want my own build, but I've had terrible luck so far and keep ragequitting when I keep dying. If someone can help me out with this at least I can say I helped make it. "Simple rules: - pick at last 150% increased life from tree, up to 200% is safer - have life on every slot of item that isn't weapon / build enabling unique - be res capped (75% ele resist, might want some chaos too but doesn't need to be capped) - if you are not immune to ailments, flasks for bleed and freeze are a must, curses is good to have as well This rules apply to every life-based build, fulfill those, first mistake is people spend 100 points on damage nodes and barely anything on survivability. Plan which auras are the best for your build too, you won't be able to pick everything. It's also easier to have a character that is in full yellows and then include some uniques than have a character that is dressed in uniques then struggle to res cap or get life. Last thing, please do not help Kraityn. Do not help anyone except Alira on crit oriented builds. 2 points are nearly always better than Oak / Kraityn, if you run out of good stuff on the tree, best option is to pick a 2-point jewel slot and buy a good jewel. I think it's too fragile. IMO maxing resists AND getting enough life AND getting life regen or life leech just costs way too many points. At least when I go to do it I would have to spend all my points on defense to get barely enough defense and then have nothing left over for DPS. I really struggled to get 100k on Cyclone. But 5k life, 43% block, and pretty much no health regen kind of sucks. Any tips? |

You have no auras. Hatred is a big dps boost. This whole setup of temp chains + blasphemy + enhance is a massive mana hog for I'm not sure what reason, I mean you said it's important to you but I don't know why.
The items you put in the build are very weak. I mean average item can have easily 70-90 life (50 for jewellery slots afaik) and you put ~40 on each, same with resists, 35-40%+ of 1 resist and items can have triple resists. Ofc that means it looks weak. Life regen I wouldn't bother speccing into it, unless it comes paired with something else useful like max life, you probably want to spec into leech as a melee build. 1-2 sources of leech should be enough though, since it has a cap how much you can normally leech in comparison to your life pool. You also spent 4 points for pure stats when you can get that from items (intellect / dex / str). Your accuracy is nowhere close to maxed. Your flasks are awful. If you use a crit build diamond flask is a must. Diadyan dawn (the belt) is bad for anything except ignite builds, yes you gain some ignite damage but lose physical damage (and not all of your cyclone is converted to cold). Assassin's haste is a poor jewel, I bet most yellows can beat it. You have some very inefficient pathing decisions like the whole path towards Hired killer (right side of scion start) is 10 points for basically a jewel slot and 14% life. Same with Weathered Hunter - you can just get some accuracy on items and run lvl 1 precision for cheap. And then you could spend 1 point for connecting the tree above Steelwood stance, and you used 2 instead below Whirling Barrier. Generally go to pob and tick "show node power" next to search box on the bottom. Start mousing over the red nodes and find out which give the biggest damage boost (assuming you have correct items and support gems plugged). Anyway, I'm not an expert on cyclone builds. What would I do in your situation is try to find someone on poe.ninja with similar build and try to downscale it to your budget / adapt to your class. Of course you'd have to ask which nodes / stats are picked because of their specific ascendancy (stuff like frenzy charges on raider) and which could be generally good. Which support gems and auras they use? What stats do they do for? First thing I noticed, both use 1h with a shield, is that something that could be better over a staff? Another thing is you could ask some known streamer that reviews builds, especially someone who knows more about melee builds. I don't know what's the best way to increase damage because there's many ways to do so and there could be better or worse ways, for example: - capping accuracy - increasing crit chance - increasing crit multiplier - gaining "physical as extra cold" sources - gaining "added cold" sources - elemental ailments like shock - gaining physical or cold as extra chaos - attack speed - weapon damage - cold penetration - "enemies take increased damage" type of mods - temporary buffs like ancestral warchief, adrenaline, vaal skills - power and / or frenzy charges ... and probably many others I don't know about. I never really played a melee build. Take anything I said with a grain of salt. If you truly want to make your own build, you have to research the skill and the ways of scaling it to an extent you don't have to when you just "follow a guide" and get ready made solutions. |

Half of your post doesn't understand the build. The right side is critical for the build to work. I need Winter Spirit and the node next to it to get 90% of my damage converted to cold. Graceful Assault stacks with the onslaught mod on Daresso's Defiance. The right side also has lots of nodes that increase the effectiveness of my flasks.
The silver flasks are crazy powerful. They increase my attack speed over 40% and my movement speed over 80%. I don't understand why you think they're awful. They are in fact awesome. The rest of your post is basically summed up as "you need exalt-crafted gear to do endgame content but you can only get exalts farming endgame content" which reminds me why I stopped playing years ago. I guess I won't be coming back. |

I never said you should unspec winter spirit.
But sure keep stacking that attack speed and nothing else, and be stuck with 100k dps at 11 attacks per second. Your problem not mine. Serves me right for trying to help instead of leaving the post unanswered like 99% of "help me with build" posts that don't follow any guide and are completely all over the place. And yes, if you build a melee or bow build you will probably need expensive gear to tackle endgame in 3.9. You want to clear atlas in gear for lvl 40 characters, you can play necromancer. You can still reach much better numbers than 100k in budget gear on many builds, but probably something more mainstream. And no, 3 of the same flask make no sense, they don't stack and you get flask regen from pathfinder node. 3 silver and 2 hybrid, no freeze immunity, no atziri's promise, wise oak or taste of hate, no diamond flask, no instant life flask, opportunities are endless. I'm out. Good luck finding someone who's willing to "understand" a broken build or spend their time for free tailoring build to your liking because you're too proud to follow a ready made one and would rather bang your head against the wall with endless homebrew builds that keep dying and have low damage. And don't ask for advice if you aren't willing to hear any criticism. |
