Help with my "I really messed up my first deadeye build" :)

Hi folks,

So - played beta years ago back in 2012 and off and on since then but playing my first real char now - I recently decided to get back in and did some research and found what I thought was a pretty good guide for an Ice Shot/Barrage Deadeye - so figured I'd play that. Was constantly struggling with running out of mana and for the latest 20 levels or so have been using VaaL rain of arrows in my helm with life/mana leech gems and a mirage archer support as my main skill - it sort of works - if I alternate rain of arrows to keep mirage archer up and leach and shoot off ice shot for groups or find the main pack leader and use barrage on him... I've stashed about 10 points or so away and have a ton of respect points to see what I can do but been struggling trying to figure out - what would be viable - I stumbled across a lioneye's fall jewel so been thinking about investing in the claws skills as from reading online seems to be a viable option - I've tried running using tornado shot too but get killed with the mana on that too. I guess a couple of specific questions would be:

1st - I've been using a Mark of Submission unset ring with projectile weakness as it seems to do a decent job over some other rings I've found - but I can't find anyone recommending it as a viable ring to use while leveling - is there something I don't understand?

2nd - What type of damage should I be expecting to do with my gear - is it my bow that is just severely lacking in damage? Should I invest in trying to roll it to 5 links possibly?

3rd - any suggestions on the mana issue? I tried running haste and HoI - but couldn't keep mana up and was constantly popping potions so I typically just run HoI - but can get away with having haste up clearing levels if I just basically only spam RoA.

4th - LOL - I'm always dying - I've got my resists up decent as everything I read was max these - is there another trick or is PoE really geared towards just popping potions constantly to survive?

Here's a link to my char:

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

mana issues mean you don't have a source of mana leech...or your dps is way too low to leech effectively. get some life leech, max resists and aim for at least 5k hp. Not sure what exactly you're struggling with.
I am in almost the exact same situation and playing the same build as you are, made a quick video going over stuff, hopefully it helps you!

I mean...2500hp and a 4L. There's your answer.
ok - so regarding 2500hp - what gear or other means would you look to increase that from? - Currently I'm level 68 - would you focus on trying to find that on the passive tree - or from gear? any particular gear that is important to get the health bonus from?

As you are progressing your characters - what evasion rating do you try to stay above like 50 or 60% chance to evade attacks? - I've read a lot about maxing resists - but not too much about

Regarding 4-link - I wasn't sure if I should try and reroll that bow to 5 or 6 links or first focus on trying to find a better bow - I already spent a bunch of jeweler's orbs trying to get it to 5 or 6 links. I also wasn't as concerned with adding more links - as I was struggling with IceShot because of lack of mana that I couldn't afford to add more support gems to it - but I guess I could try and use a mana leech gem so I can spam it more.

Any suggestions on best places on gear or skill tree to get mana leech?

Also - regarding DPS - back to my original question about running a Mark of Submission ring opposed to another rare ring? I find it really hard to try and calculate damage output comparisons since the ring uses a curse to increase damage.

Awesome video - that really helped - yeah - you're doing 10x the damage I currently do. :P
