Desecrate Corpse Bug
Enter a map with 1 carnage chieftain and 1 host chieftain and you can desecrate carnage chieftains but not host chieftains.

I'm experiencing this as well. I can get Carnage Chieftain's left and right but I cannot get a Host Chieftain to spawn in my desecrate pool even though I entered the map with 1 of each. I've tried for a full hour trying to get just 1 Host Chieftain and still no luck. I definitely think there's a bug here.
EDIT: I've also tested going into a map with just Host Chieftain's and was still unable to get a Host Chieftain to spawn in the desecrate pool. Editado por útlima vez por Touchstone#6149 en 10 sept. 2018 16:59:57

I am having this problem too. It was working a couple of weeks ago.

Hi there, Host Chieftains are listed as non-desecratable monsters, as there is some mechanical issue in spawning their corpses. There are many monsters in the game like this that can be raised as spectres but cannot be desecrated (like Knitted Horrors).
Unfortunately, this means that if you want Host Chieftain spectres you have to find them naturally in world/map areas. |

" AFAIK this is usually tied to some sort of mechanic involved with the corpse, right? Like with Knitted Horrors and Host Chieftains, they both create other monsters when the corpse is created. Same for the Acolyte things in act 5. |

"I can confirm that it is possible to desecrate Host Chieftains. ![]() I use 2 of them in combination with 2 Stygian Silverbacks. Let's explore new playstyles - Play it your own way, not just like the others.

So it looks like there are two similar but distinct monsters with the same name of "Host Chieftain". One of them has specific behaviour that precludes it from working correctly if spawned as a corpse, and is thus set to not be desecratable. The other does not have this behaviour and is desecratable.

I get both Carnage and Host Chieftains from the Ashen Fields in Act 7. I never had any problems desecrating either of them in any high level area (including the mines).

I'm having the same problem. Sitting in the mine for an hour, spawning one million carnage chieftains, but unable to spawn a host chieftain.

I think I figured it out. If you get a Carnage Chieftain from ACt2 and a host Chieftain from Act 7, then you can only desecrate the carnage chieftain. If you get both the carnage chieftain and host from Act 7 , then you can desecrate both.
