Summon holy relic so confusing

Holy Relic is a Minion Spell. You cast it and you have that Relic floating about. Every time you hit an enemy with an Attack, the Relic casts the Nova (with a cooldown). So only attacks work from your side, not Spells like Dark Pact. Does not have to be Melee either, any attack will do as long as you hit an enemy.

Ancestral Protector is a Totem, not a Minion. Totems use different modifiers and stay put. The Relic is a Minion, which will follow you around and benefit from all Minion modifiers, like Minion Movement Speed, Minion Life and Minion Damage.

You have to hit the enemy yourself. A Totem does not hit for you. Totems will not Trigger the Nova.
