How to submit a new build or guide - With Templates for you

Hello Exiles,

here you will find my Template for Build Guides, you can use them if you want. I create them to make it easier for others to submit and create new Builds to share them with the community.
Over time I will provide various styles.
The First post will include some tips & tricks and usefull links
Also, feedback is very welcome!

Why do I provide such a help?

In the last weeks I saw many Builds not only in the duellist section, which are nice and sometimes innovative, but mostly unreadable or at least not pleasing to do so. So I thought I might change this.


How to Use the Templates?

Simply quote the one you wish to use, get rid of the quote tags and edit the rest to your favour.

The first Style will contain some tips how to handle them, and what are the tricky parts.

If you want you can credit me for the Template, but thats not really needed. :)

Questions for yourself

Do you want a heavy Guide overloaded with Pics and Gifs? Or do you want an easy to digest one? Both styles are totally valid. And if done right both can be pleasing to other in terms of readability.

General guide advices


- the introduction of your build is extremely important, this is on the same level as visuals!

- Keep your guide clean, which means try to avoid walls of text or massive spoiler usage!

- Show your achievments! Killed shaper? Show it! Killed 3x dmg mods inc life vuln reflect Guadian? Show it! Show the hardest map you can.

- Try to be unique but not a special snowflake. Got a meme in mind? Just try it! Meme Builds are nice!

- Your build is already posted but you handle things differently? Point this out!

- Don't be afraid of feedback or critique, this only helps to improve your guide!

- Readability is the key for a great guide!

- don't be afraid of some color. But not too much.

Style one - with explanations

Introduction



Here is your short introduction of your build, for what it is designed for and what it is capable of.

Example:

Welcome Exiles to my Earthquake Build, which I was playing in 2.6.
I farmed Uber Izzaro with it and was able to farm all Guadians. Shaper is possible and so is Uber Atziri.
I did this in Legacy HC

If you want to use a picture, use one that isn't too large.

Pro's & Con's

Optional part, here you can list some of the pro's and con's of the build. This may help others to decide if they want to give your build a try!

Gear

In this section you simply put in your used equipment. Post them straight away, dont separate them with "enter" while creating the post. Otherwise the build will be far worse to read.

Here you can show off your assets, show us the screenshots of your character sheets and If you are able to provide them, some videos.

Tip: Crop down your screenshots to the needed part and shorten the pics with this. If you have more than 3 Screenshots, hide them in spoiler tags

Sup' Exiles,

there are now 3 available templates which you can use. I have an idea for a fourth one, but this needs a bit more perparation. (My Paint and PS skill are below average lol)

In the spoiler below and the first template you see what I mean.




In the next days/weeks I try to add more templates and/or adapt existing ones if the creators allow this.

I also asked to get this post sticky, but thats sadly not possible right now. So I need to bump this from time to time.

If you are good with paint or Photo Shop (or what ever) and want to contribute some generic pics, get in contact with me. If possible I would like to add generic usable pics for others to use.

Example values!!

I get these questions quite often. Here are some answers.

Q. Why is my life so low?

A. Make sure you have 70+ life on all pieces of your gear. Make sure your BoR has 150+ flat life. Make sure that all your jewels have +7% maximum life like mine.

Q. Why is my DPS so low?

A. Make sure all your gems are supported in your Bringer of Rain. Make sure you have flat physical damage on all your jewelry. Make sure you have attack speed on your gloves. Make sure you are level 85+ and your gems are level 18+. Make sure you use concentrated effect for bosses.

Q. How are you using your skills without mana cost?

A. Soul Taker allows you to use melee skills without spending mana.

Q. Should I use Cleave or Lacerate?

A. This is entirely up to you. Both have different play-styles and are easily interchangeable.
