Someone is trying to hack my account

As it says, I constantly receive mail with password reset, my account was even blocked when someone from China tried to log in. I don't even play POE, my character is only lvl 27. Why do they do that? I don't like the idea of being hacked even if I don't play POE, was never hacked in any game. How do they get my data when I don't use anything that has to do with phishing, gold selling and other stuff?

" Read one of the many other countless threads on people being "hacked". long story short: they somehow got access to your account information. HOW they got access is hard to answer because there are so many ways. Best thing you can do is clean your PC and change your passwords from a clean system (like your mobile phone browser). I'd recommend using gmail as your email and enable 2-factor authentication to better protect your email account. If you have difficulty getting your new email address attached to your PoE account, use the Contact Support link at the top of the page and they can assist. They will not restore items/characters, so don't even ask. |

Just got an email to reset my password as well and google blocked a suspicious login to my email.I live in NY and the login attempt said it was from California. Thank you google.

" And that is also why you need 2-Step Verification enabled. If they had managed to get into your email, your account would be gone. 2-Step Verification would completely prevent unauthorized people from getting into your email as they would need a login token to do it (which only you have). |
