Gear drops ?
Ok, so I have a Templar. Skill tree says strength and intelligence are my main stats. But it seems like every drop of gear has Dexterity on it. Should I put points in DEX also or is my Rng with drops just bad? I quit Diablo 3 over its crappy rng system. Right now I'M level 45 and I have gear that ranges from 26 to 40. The 26 gear is a unique item with 5 gem slots. It's a flaming armor chest piece. I should probably get rid of it now.

At a high level you may want some Dexterity to satisfy attribute requirements of equipment, but it's not something that you need to worry about for a while.
While I'd typically encourage everyone to try out Path of Exile and see if they like it - it's free to download, and certainly capable of being fun for thousands of hours - I'd caution you that it may not be what you're looking for, just based on your comments on RNG. Diablo III uses a 'smart loot' system to tailor loot drops for the character you're playing. Path of Exile doesn't do this - and it's a concept which the developers are strongly opposed to. They prefer to have RNG be 'pure'. No bad luck protection, or anything like that. Honestly, I'd suggest that you give Diablo III another go. I don't want to discourage you, but from the sounds of what you want from loot in an ARPG... Diablo III is as close to that as it gets. Getting Best In Slot items quickly isn't the point of most games in the genre. The item hunt is what keeps an ARPG alive, and most want to be played for quite a while. If you ask someone what ARPGs are about, they'll generally say "grinding for hundreds / thousands of hours." "VPs are not required to change their posting style. They are still welcome to express their opinions and take part in any discussions they wish. Their only responsibility is to continue doing what they have always done - posting in a friendly and constructive manner."

Drop is dependent on RNG within level limitations, so you may just be unlucky and ended up with more DEX based gears. You will be disappointed to find that this game is quite RNG heavy. Player skill and knowledge is of utmost importance if you want to go far, but RNG will always be there watching you. This is not a game for you if you dislike RNG.
Regarding what you should invest in, what's your build and what do you want to do? You hid you characters so it's hard to tell as an outsider. For example, you don't need to invest in dex any more than necessary if you are playing a spell caster. POE is a game of flexibility. While Templars are int/str, you can go with a bow or punch people to death. Item level, specially for uniques, may not be related to their strength or usefulness. Last league one of the most powerful uniques for one of the most popular builds was a bow with a level requirement of 5! Editado por útlima vez por Zphyr#7004 en 17 dic. 2018 17:18:51

You can use amulets to get the added stats you need too. That's what I would do before using the points on the tree. For example, I need more Dex and Int so i use this You really want to use your points on the tree for more beneficial things if you can.
Arguing on the Internet: What's the point when you can't punch them in the face when they really piss you off?

At first look, you fell to most common new players traps:
- Way too many skills, with a mix of attacks and spells that has no synergy. I suggest picking one or just a few, and buff them up with support gems. At low levels it may not feel too bad as it is, but as difficulty increases you will start falling behind until you hit a wall. As they say, jack of all trades, master of none. - In order to gain buffs from support gems, they must be linked, not just slotted in the same item. For example, none of the 3 skills in your boots actually benefit from added lightning damage support. - I strongly suggest avoiding investment in +10 nodes that aren't used as highway to more interesting nodes. - Do not be afraid to move around the tree. I know it's taunting. If you see a node in Marauder that looks juicy, do go there! - Make getting life and resistances a priority. - That cloak isn't bad. Better if you dealt fire damage of some kind. - You can only apply 1 curse at a time. Yeah... I don't think you "need" to go dex based. As advised above, get them to reach gear requirements. Equipment will eventually drop for you, or buy them. Editado por útlima vez por Zphyr#7004 en 17 dic. 2018 19:48:13

Thx Zephyr
Yeah, all those skills I was just checking out. I think I will as far as damage stick with Lightening and fire I need to get more support gems though. |
