Kill Kitava
I am a lvl 55 duelist and find it very difficult to kill Kitava. I use 2 weapon melee and bow and arrows. I die within 10 seconds, I do a tiny bit of damage.
when the heart is on the table, shall I focus on the heart? And how do i do this without being killed by the others that seem to respawn all the time.. feeling frustrated :) thanks for any advice Reflotado por última vez en 13 nov. 2018 23:21:16

Hello there.
Yes, the heart is supposed to be the priority. Killing it as fast as possible will reduce the time where you are overwhelmed by mobs. But in your case, it seems your build has offensive and/or defensive flaws, which makes it dangerous either ways. I suggest you try to upgrade your build/gear, or simply level up a bit more before attempting that boss, cause if you're level 55, you're around 10 levels below what is expected (if it is act 10 kitava you're talking about). Good luck =] PLEASE QUOTE ME IF YOU ARE EXPECTING A REPLY

How do you mix both bow and melee? It is 2 separate builds and wastes points going jack of all trades.

Number one thing in Path of Exile is not branching out too much. Choose one skill and stick with it.
Attempting to mix melee and ranged doesn't work. It makes you, like the previous poster said, a jack of all trades, ace of none. Since you don't show your characters here on the site (account -> Lower right -> Privacy settings) all I can see is that you're level 55 without having ascended through the Labyrinth. It is accessed through doing trials you find throughout the leveling process in specific zones (look it up on pathofexile.gamepedia.com). This allows you to specialize further into your class, granting you big boosts to defence and offence. If you're just starting out in PoE I recommend following a buildguide, of which you can find plenty here on the forum in the class sections. Just going in guns blazing and coming from other games, the single-skill focus often required in PoE seems weird. I came from a mainly MMORPG background and ran around with a templar with five different skills with two or three links each at first, just because it felt right. I didn't get far. |

ok have a look at my build.. I have done alright sofar. I am just stuffing around ofcourse. but i feel I kill gruops with my bow, when they are weakened and a few left I knock them of with my two swords. any little bosses i just go in guns -swords- blazing and knock them of but a big boss likethis one, seem to take forever .
(as a side line i got so much stuff (I could build an army with my stones etc) I probably have 200 or more of them things to make rare items. just plotting around lol I am a hoarder like in Diablo. |

Hi,
I see some typical beginner´s mistakes. Path of exile is about specialization. We usually have one or max two (singl target + AoE skill) main damage dealing skills and some aura / curse / utility skills that support the main one. You should choose either melee or bow specialization and stick to it bcos you will have not enough passive skills to support both. You have low elemental resistances and life. You should aim for 300+ life per act (1500+ in act 5 and more if melee specialization) and try to cap your elemental resistances at 75 (50-60 is ok for early game). Your other characters look similar so I would suggest to choose a good beginner´s build guide and follow it. There are also some nice guides (both written and video) to PoE you can read about basics there. Editado por útlima vez por Rakiii#5559 en 8 nov. 2018 8:56:33

Hello!
Well, you have a lot of skills that has no support gems. You have 13 (!) attacks and spells, and only elemental hit has a support (which may not work because EH does not deal physical damage?). As others have said, specialization is necessary... most people end up with 1 or just a couple skills plus curses/auras/etc. It's easier, and frankly stronger, to focus yourself in a few things while building around it. Which one(s) do you like more? Stick with them. Also, you barely have any life. More than damage life is a must, alongside resistances (except for chaos, which is secondary). Making them your priority when gearing will aid you survive longer. Additionaly, either go bow or melee. There's little to no merit on using both in one character. You use one handed melee weapons, why invest on two handed melee? While bow is indeed two handed, the nodes you took below duelists are for melee. On the tree, I would suggest only spending points on +10 nodes for pathing, since the gain is minimal. Editado por útlima vez por Zphyr#7004 en 8 nov. 2018 9:37:53

thanks guys... hmm I'll have a look.. I like both arrows and melee :) Not somuch in druids spells etc.
I just thought it would be best if I was good at both.. distance and melee. I tend to killmost from a distance (love my multi arrows) but at other times I like to just belt them with the sword. anyhow, yeah the others are similar as i am comfortable playing this way, after all I got this far! I have some more research in the links and see how i go Thanks again ! |
